Common Questions
Curiosity is the doorway to clarity

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE? Like many specialty providers, I don’t participate directly with insurance plans. However, during your free consultation call, I am happy to assist you in verifying your out-of-network mental health benefits and discuss options.
HOW OFTEN WILL WE MEET? Research shows that meeting consistently at the start of therapy leads to stronger outcomes. For this reason, I ask new clients to commit to weekly sessions for the first eight weeks at least. As we move forward, i’ll regularly check in about your progress and needs, and together we can adjust the frequency—whether that means increasing support or shifting to biweekly or monthly sessions.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN MY FIRST SESSION? Your first session is mostly about getting to know you. We’ll explore what brings you in, your goals, your history, and what you hope therapy can support. You’re welcome to share at your own pace, there is no pressure to disclose more than you feel ready for.
WILL YOU ACTUALLY GIVE ME COPING TOOLS? My therapeutic style is active, engaged, collaborative, and goals-oriented. I strive to balance deeply listening and holding space for you to process, while also offering personalized, evidence-based tools to help you navigate your challenges. Every step of our work together is tailored to your unique needs, pace, and strengths.
HOW LONG DOES THERAPY LAST? The honest answer? It varies. Some clients find what they’re looking for in just 3–6 months. Others continue therapy to build on their progress or explore new goals as they emerge and life evolves. Many clients choose to stay in therapy longer-term as a consistent space to reflect, process, and grow. Therapy is a deeply personal journey, and there's no one-size-fits-all timeline. When you feel ready to end therapy, we’ll talk together about wrapping up in a way that feels thoughtful and complete.
HOW DO I KNOW IF THERAPY IS WORKING? You may notice very subtle changes first, such as feeling more self-aware, emotionally regulated, or even understood. Over time, you’ll start responding differently to stress, communicating more effectively, or noticing shifts in your mood and behavior. I’ll check in regularly to make sure the therapeutic process is supporting you.
